I am on this amazing journey of self-discovery, through the world of baking. Over four years ago, I had an epiphany while baking Chocolate Chip Cookies after an extremely stressful day at work. As I was baking the cookies, I heard myself singing “Joy To The World”. I stopped for a moment and a thought popped into my head, “What is wrong with this picture”? Baking makes me happy in so many ways.
I bake not only for myself but to see the joy in others as they smile, especially when they take that first bite of food that is definitely worth the calories that they are eating. Nothing is worse than eating something that is too sweet or takes like cardboard and has absolutely no real good flavor to it.
Food is a wonderful way to reach people and help them find that moment or memory that makes them happy in this crazy world.
I make lot of wonderful baked goods like, cookies, cakes, breads, pies, cobblers and much more. I love to use as much goods as possible from local farmers in the area, for example my Focaccia with Cilantro Olive Oil, my Plum Crumble or Peach Cobbler.
For the past 4 years, I have been selling at Farmer’s Markets and after the initial expenses that were out of my own pocket, the business has paid for its own expenses for everything after that. I continue to grow in repeat clients, and new clients at every Farmer’s Market. I am ready to go the next stage of access to a certified kitchen and a storefront.
Joy To The World Baking is about much more than baking, it is about the passion of creating, the community it serves and the smiles it brings.
